Tomato purée. : 2 cups
Boiled Rice. : 2 cups
Onions. : 1/4 cup
Capsicum. : 1/4 cup
Green chili : 4
Ginger Garlic paste: 1 tbsp
Oil. : 2 tbsp
Salt. : to taste
Red chili powder. : 2 tsp
Coriander powder : 1 tsp
Cumin powder. : 1 tsp
Kitchen king : 2 tsp
Mustard seeds. : 1 tsp
Turmeric. : a pinch
Channa dal. : 1 1/2 tsp
Curry leaves. : 1 sprig
Chop onions, green chili, capsicum and set aside. Heat wok with oil and temper the items under “TO TEMPER” . As soon as the mustard seeds splutter, add green chili, ginger garlic paste, onions and fry till the onions get transparent. Add the chopped capsicum and fry of a 2 – 3 min.
When the capsicum gets softer, add tomato purée, and the dry powders. mix it we’ll and bring it to boil it you get the aroma.
Add the boiled rice and garnish with coriander leaves. Enjoy the hot and yummy tomato rice with chips or papad.
Cook the tomato purée till the raw smell reduces and then add dry powders.

I prefer to use Basmathi Rice , if not normal rice can also be used.
Do not mix the paste with the hot rice. Let the rice cool it for some time , this is done to avoid the stickiness of the rice.
